Frequently asked questions
What is paint protection film?
PPF is a clear urethane film applied over your paint to absorb rock chips, road debris and light scratches. It is optically clear, so it protects without changing how the car looks.
What is the difference between PPF and a vinyl wrap?
A vinyl wrap changes the colour and offers no impact protection. PPF is clear and exists purely to protect the paint. Colour PPF does both, changing the colour while protecting the paint underneath.
Does PPF self-heal?
Quality PPF has a topcoat that lets light swirl marks and fine scratches disappear when the film is warmed by the sun or warm water. Deeper cuts that go through the topcoat do not heal.
Should I do full body or just the front?
Front-end coverage protecting the hood, front fenders, mirrors and bumper is the most common starting point, because that is where road debris actually hits. Full body coverage protects everything, including the panels that collect door dings and scratches in car parks.
Can PPF go over a wrap or a ceramic coating?
PPF goes directly on the paint. Ceramic coating is applied on top of PPF, not underneath it. If you want both, the order matters, so tell us up front what you are planning.
What warranty do you offer on PPF?
Our PPF work carries a 10 year warranty on installation and material. We do a 1 month inspection after installation and a yearly inspection after that.
Where are you located and what areas do you serve?
Our studio is at 13 E Moonachie Rd in Hackensack, New Jersey, and we work on cars from across New Jersey, New York City and Connecticut. Installation happens indoors in a climate-controlled bay, which matters because temperature and dust both affect how film lays down.
