Tesla models we wrap and protect

Model 3

The most common Tesla in the studio. Very few panel seams means every piece has to be executed cleanly the first time, and the glass roof edge needs a tight transition or it lifts once winter freeze-thaw cycles start. Model Y

Same body language as the Model 3 with more surface area and a larger liftgate. The rear quarter panels take more heat and stretch work than most crossovers, and the roof glass runs further back, so edge work matters even more.

Model S

A longer car with softer curves and a frunk line that rewards careful alignment. Owners here lean toward satin and stealth finishes more than on the other models.

Model X

The falcon wing doors are the complication. Their hinge geometry and door seals need film routed carefully so nothing catches or lifts through the door cycle. Not every shop wants this job.

Cybertruck

A different job from every other Tesla. The stainless panels are flat, large and unforgiving, and they show fingerprints and marks that paint would hide. Both colour PPF and full colour wraps work well here, and demand for them is high.

Sensor-safe installation

Teslas carry cameras, sensors and radar in places film can interfere with. Camera housings, sensor apertures and radar zones get masked or trimmed around rather than covered. Done wrong, this is the failure that shows up as an Autopilot fault weeks later, which is why it is worth asking any shop how they handle sensor areas before you book.

Choosing between a wrap, PPF and colour PPF

A vinyl wrap changes the colour and comes off cleanly later, but it will not stop a rock chip. Paint protection film is clear and stops chips without changing the look. Colour PPF does both and costs the most. Ceramic coating is a lower-cost option that adds gloss and easier cleaning, but it is not impact protection.

Tesla wrap and PPF questions

Do you wrap every Tesla model?

Yes. Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X and Cybertruck all come through the studio. Each has its own quirks, and the Cybertruck in particular is a different job from the rest because of the stainless panels.

Will a wrap or PPF interfere with Autopilot sensors or cameras?

No, when it is installed properly. Camera housings, radar areas and sensor apertures are masked or trimmed around rather than covered. This is one of the places where an inexperienced installer causes real problems, so ask how a shop handles sensor areas before booking.

Does wrapping void my Tesla warranty?

A professional wrap is not a permanent modification and does not affect your factory warranty. The film sits on top of the paint and comes off later. Damage caused by a bad installation is a different matter, which is why installer choice matters.

Is Tesla paint really thinner than other cars?

Tesla paint has a long-standing reputation among owners for being on the thin side, and rock chips tend to show up early, especially on the white and black cars. That is the main reason so many owners here put film on the front end within the first year.

What is the difference between a wrap and PPF on a Tesla?

A vinyl wrap changes the colour and offers no impact protection. PPF is clear and protects the paint from chips without changing the look. Colour PPF does both. Which one is right depends on whether you want a new look, protection, or both.

How long does a Tesla wrap take?

Plan on 5 to 7 business days for a full wrap. Paint protection film runs 7 to 10 business days, and a front end package is shorter than either. If the paint needs correction work first, that adds time on top.

Can I just do the roof or the chrome delete?

Yes, and these are two of the most requested partial jobs on a Model 3 and Model Y. A gloss black roof and chrome delete change the look of the car substantially for a fraction of a full wrap.

Do you serve Teslas outside New Jersey?

We are in Hackensack and regularly work on cars from across North Jersey, New York City and Connecticut. The studio is indoors and climate controlled, which matters for film installation quality.
