What is a ceramic coating?
A ceramic coating is a liquid applied to the paint that cures into a hard, hydrophobic layer. It adds gloss, makes the car much easier to wash and helps protect against UV and chemical staining.
Does ceramic coating stop rock chips?
No, and this is the most common misunderstanding. A coating is measured in microns and protects against chemical and UV damage, not impact. If you want chip protection, that is paint protection film.
Can I have both a ceramic coating and PPF?
Yes, and it is a common combination. The coating goes on top of the film. Tell us up front if you want both so the work is sequenced correctly.
How long does a ceramic coating last?
It depends on the product and how the car is maintained. Regular hand washing and avoiding harsh chemicals extend it considerably, while automatic brush washes shorten it.
Does my paint need preparation first?
Yes. A coating locks in whatever is underneath it, so swirl marks and contamination are corrected before application. Skipping this step is what makes a coated car look permanently marked.
How do I maintain a coated car?
Hand wash with a pH-neutral shampoo, use two buckets, and dry with a clean microfibre. Skip automatic brush washes and rinse road salt off through the winter.
Where are you located and what areas do you serve?
Our studio is at 13 E Moonachie Rd in Hackensack, New Jersey, and we work on cars from across New Jersey, New York City and Connecticut. Installation happens indoors in a climate-controlled bay, which matters because temperature and dust both affect how film lays down.
How do I get a price for my car?
