What is a clear bra?
Clear bra is the common name for paint protection film applied to the front of a car, covering the hood, front fenders, mirrors and bumper. It is the same material as PPF, just describing a partial front application.
Is a clear bra the same as the old vinyl bras?
No. The old strap-on bras were fabric covers that trapped grit and rubbed the paint. A clear bra is a transparent film bonded to the paint surface, invisible from a normal viewing distance.
Why cover just the front?
The front end takes nearly all the rock chip damage on a car, so a front package addresses the highest-risk area at a fraction of full body coverage.
Will the edges be visible?
Properly installed film is wrapped around panel edges where the design allows, so there is no visible line across the middle of a panel. Where an edge has to sit on a surface, it is placed along a natural break.
Does a clear bra affect sensors or cameras?
Front bumper areas on modern cars often carry radar and camera hardware. Those areas are masked or trimmed around rather than covered, which is why the installer’s experience matters here.
What warranty do you offer?
Our PPF work carries a 10 year warranty on installation and material. We do a 1 month inspection after installation and a yearly inspection after that.
Where are you located and what areas do you serve?
Our studio is at 13 E Moonachie Rd in Hackensack, New Jersey, and we work on cars from across New Jersey, New York City and Connecticut. Installation happens indoors in a climate-controlled bay, which matters because temperature and dust both affect how film lays down.
